I love social software! I'll be the first to admit that I am addicted to facebook. I moved to Calgary in May and since then I have found Facebook a great way to keep in touch with people back home. It's quick and easy. I like being able to see photos. Every phone call for me is long distance and that adds up after awhile. I also find that it is less demanding than e-mail. I feel perfectly comfortable leaving one or two word messages for my friends on Facebook, such as "SMILE" or 'Miss you' whereas I wouldn't necessary go to the effort of an e-mail for this simple message.
I think that Social Software does not keep me from my friends. It helps keep me connected to them by allowing me to interact, and share my thoughts and ideas. Mellisa Lim
Hi there, Social Software has been great for me. It really has kept me in touch with my family especially my Mother who has a bit of phone phobia. We use email all the time to plan family dinners together. So far it's been great. I also like live chat. Lots of fun for me.
I think that social software is great. I use facebook regularly and find it a great way to keep in touch with current and long lost freinds. Of course there are definatly a lot of concerns with it. Privacy is defiantly an issue. As well as personal security. It is easy for the wrong types of people to gain access to your information. Also it can be bad if people forget about the "the real world" and only stay in tuned with the internet. If used properly though facebook, along with most social software is harmless and fun.
Social software allows me to communicate more easily with my friends. I am not a huge fan of the phone and prefer to talk to my friends over MSN if I want to ask them a quick question or confirm a time to meet.
It has also allowed me to meet many new friends over blogs, some that I have had the chance to connect with in person. I never would have met them without social software.
I do have an addiction to social software such as Facebook. While it may keep me from my friends because we find it easier to communicate online on the site instead of seeing each other in person, it also allows me to keep in touch with friends that I hardly ever get to see, such as ones that live very far away or ones that would be hard getting ahold of.
I like social software because it allows me to contact people that I don't see on a regular basis and allows me to vent my daily annoyances via email or facebook post when it is still fresh in my brain, Kara Morgan

For some reason, the site was not working during the test. Now that the test is over, it works! So I might as well add my comment.
Social software is addicting, but useful for keeping in touch with friends, especially when they are spread out all over the place geographically.
My family is huge; half my 90 Facebook friends are cousins and I love it because I talk to them way more online than I did otherwise.
this blog didn't work during the exam itself... I go a 404 message... I was freaking out a little. I'm OK now.
It's great for when I can't get in touch with them through cellphones, or in person!! : )
